My name is Phil Ouellette but most at CRA know me as Mr. O. I began my teaching career at Gilliam Youth Services Center where I started as a Para in a Math classroom and then became the Social Studies Teacher. After 2 years, my (now) wife and I travelled to Southeast Asia and spent time in Vietnam, Thailand Indonesia and my favorite, Cambodia where we taught English.
We returned to Colorado and returned to teaching at Compassion Road Academy in January 2013. I now live in Aurora with my wife, our 3 kids, our cat and dog.
This will be my 12th year at Compassion Road Academy (I am proud to say that I have been here since our first year) and I am passionate about making this the best place for our students to learn and feel supported and for parents/guardians to feel confident in how we are supporting their young people.
In my time at Compassion Road Academy I have been a Teacher, a Dean and now our Assistant Principal and I am thankful for all of my opportunities along the way. I have also been able to complete my Masters in Conflict Resolution and love to support students in identifying ways in which other perspectives can be learned from and appreciated.
I have a certification in teaching Mindfulness from Mindful Schools and love every opportunity to support students and adults with their own Mindfulness journeys.
