My name is Phil Ouellette but most people in our building call me “Mr. O”. I am one of the Deans at Compassion Road Academy. I have been working in education since 2011 and have worked in multiple schools in DPS, while also teaching English in Cambodia while my wife and I traveled through Southeast Asia. Most of my time in education has been here at CRA where I started as a Social Studies teacher and then moved into my current role as Dean. I looked to move into my role because as much as I loved teaching Social Studies and watch students think critically about both current events and events from the past, I really wanted to have the opportunity to work with students more one on one. I absolutely love getting to know students individually while also watching them grow and find their place in the world. I enjoy using Mindfulness in my personal life but have found that my practice is the most useful while at CRA and something I love to teach students and allow them to use as a tool for personal growth.
