Hello CRA Wolfpack Families!
Welcome to the 24-25 School Year. We are so excited to meet our new students Monday, and welcome back returning students on Tuesday. The staff has been working hard to prepare; we are ready to fill our building with your amazing students!
The Schedule for next week is: Monday — NEW TO CRA students only from 8:50 — Noon. Bagged lunches will be provided. Tuesday — Friday: 8:50 — 2:15. Our regular schedule with Enrichments from 2:55 — 4PM for those taking that class will start Monday 8/26.
Please save the date for our Back To School/Welcome event for families: Friday August 23, we will host a pancake breakfast at school from 8:30 — 9:30. Please come on in with your students to enjoy breakfast served by the staff and to meet your student’s teachers. Parking will be available on a first-come basis in the alley behind our building, which is between Cherokee and Bannock on the north side of 10th (ignore the reserved signs). We also have three available spots in the front for families (not students or staff) marked Compassion Road Only.
Please remember that part of what makes CRA unique are the Enrichment Program and the Social Emotional support, which are detailed in our approved Innovation Plan. A section you may want to familiarize yourself with is on page 16, which outlines the consent for students to take part in Enrichments, and to receive social emotional support from our mental health staff. If you have any questions about this consent as part of registration at Compassion Road, please reach out to the Principal Vicky Virnich at 720-424-2213.
Compassion Road Academy is a Title 1 School, which provides us with additional funding to support our programs and services. Please make sure you complete the You Benefit Form online if you did not complete it when you came in to register. Lunch will be free for all this year thanks to Denver voters; however, to maintain our Title 1 funding, we must have the You Benefit Form from all our families. Please review the CRA Title One Parent Compact for 24-25.
Per the state of Colorado and DPS, CRA has a Collaborative School Committee which meets quarterly. Please call or email Vicky Virnich if you are interested in serving on the CSC. 720-424-2213 or vicky_virnich@dpsk12.net. Best practice is for parents to make up the majority of the CSC members!
